There are various reasons Jenny has decided to make this journey:

1) To come in closer contact with the natural beauty, culture, and amazing people of Spain.

2) To challenge herself on her own personal pilgrimage that will bring her one step closer toward her “full stature” and to use this journey as an illustration of the potential inside each of us.

3) Outside of herself and her own goals, Jenny wants to bring awareness to those that are traveling a much tougher path each and every day around the world. Uprooted by war, disaster or persecution, a refugee’s journey can span years and borders on the road to safety. For this, Jenny has decided to bring awareness to and help support the International Rescue Committee. At work today in over 40 countries and in 22 U.S. cities, the IRC restores safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure. The IRC leads the way from harm to home. You can help too by contributing here.  Please watch this video to see more regarding the relief this organization brings to many who are journeying for life or death:

As a side note:
The IRC is consistently awarded high marks by charity watchdog groups and respected publications for the efficient use of our financial support and the effectiveness of their work. Among these:
• The American Institute of Philanthropy gives the IRC an A+.
• Forbes gives the IRC high ratings for program efficiency and fundraising efficiency.
• The Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance notes the IRC meets all 20 of its standards.
• Charity Navigator awards us four stars, its highest rating.

Of every $1 the IRC spends, 90¢ goes to programs and services that directly benefit refugees and communities affected by war or disaster.

You, too can contribute to this worthwhile cause. Find out how you can make a difference by clicking on this link.
